4. Eligibility and Service Access

SOHCF provides free residential cleaning support and related resource connections to eligible individuals based on demonstrated need, service fit, location, available funding, volunteer or staff capacity, and safety considerations.

Submitting a service request does not guarantee approval, scheduling, or services. Each request is reviewed individually. Services may be prioritized based on urgency, need, safety, geographic availability, and available operational capacity.

We reserve the right to deny, delay, reschedule, modify, shorten, or discontinue services for reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Location outside our service area

  • Conditions outside our scope of services

  • Incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading application information

  • Insufficient volunteer, staff, or funding availability

  • Repeated cancellations, no-shows, or inability to provide reasonable access

  • Safety concerns affecting volunteers, staff, clients, residents, or others present

  • Conditions that require a different type of provider, intervention, or specialized service

SOHCF is committed to equitable service delivery and does not deny services on the basis of protected characteristics prohibited by applicable law. Safety and scope decisions are made based on conduct, conditions, operational fit, and risk.

5. Scope of Cleaning Services

  • Dusting accessible surfaces and furniture

  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and light floor care

  • Wiping counters and accessible surfaces

  • Basic kitchen cleaning

  • Basic bathroom cleaning

  • Tidying or resetting commonly used areas

Services depend on time, staffing, volunteer availability, condition of the home, available supplies, and safety considerations. SOHCF does not guarantee that all requested cleaning tasks can be completed during a single visit.

Our services do not include:

  • Biohazard cleanup

  • Mold or mildew remediation

  • Pest control or extermination

7. Safety and Right to Refuse, Pause, Modify, or End Service

The safety of our volunteers, staff, and clients is a top priority.

SOHCF reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse, postpone, shorten, modify, or immediately end a visit if we believe a situation presents a genuine safety risk, falls outside our service scope, or cannot be addressed safely with available resources.

Safety concerns may include, but are not limited to:

  • Threats, intimidation, harassment, or assaultive behavior

Safety determinations are made case by case using the information available at the time. They are based on conduct, conditions, and operational risk, not on stigma, assumptions, or protected personal characteristics.

SOHCF may request additional information, require modified service arrangements, recommend alternative providers, or decline services when appropriate.

8. Required Documentation; Optional Promotional Consent

As a condition of receiving services, clients must consent to the collection of before and after photographs and/or videos of the serviced space for internal documentation, service verification, quality assurance, donor reporting, grant support, and organizational recordkeeping.

These materials help SOHCF:

  • Document the work performed

  • Demonstrate impact to donors and funders

  • Support grant applications and future fundraising

  • Improve service quality and internal operations

Consent to this internal documentation use is required in order to receive services.

However, SOHCF will not publicly use identifiable photographs, videos, names, personal stories, or other identifying information for promotional, marketing, website, fundraising, press, or social media purposes unless the client separately provides additional consent for that public use.

Consent for public or promotional use is voluntary and is not required to receive services.

Clients who provide optional promotional consent may revoke that consent at any time by contacting contact@sparkleofhopecleaningfoundation.com. Upon revocation, SOHCF will make reasonable efforts to stop future public use and remove online materials under our control within a reasonable time, but we cannot guarantee removal of materials already printed, downloaded, reshared by third parties, or otherwise outside our control.

SOHCF will take reasonable steps to handle and store photographs, videos, and related documentation carefully and limit access to those with a legitimate operational need.

9. Testimonials and Story Sharing

We may invite clients, volunteers, partners, or donors to share testimonials, feedback, or stories about their experiences with SOHCF.

Providing a testimonial or story is always voluntary unless otherwise clearly stated. We will not publicly attribute a testimonial, story, image, or quote to a client in an identifiable way without the appropriate consent described in our forms or release materials.

We may edit testimonials for length, clarity, grammar, or formatting so long as the overall meaning is not materially changed.

10. Mental Health Resources and Peer Support Disclaimer

Sparkle of Hope Cleaning Foundation is not a licensed medical provider, therapist, mental health clinic, crisis center, or emergency response provider. We offer peer support, encouragement, and connections to outside resources as a compassionate supplement, not a substitute, for professional care.

11. Privacy and Data Use

We may collect personal information through our website, forms, donation tools, applications, communications, and program participation, including names, contact information, household details, and limited wellness-related or health-related information that individuals voluntarily provide so we can assess service needs and coordinate support.

We use this information only for legitimate organizational purposes, including:

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information on a limited, need-to-know basis with trusted volunteers, contractors, software providers, platforms, or service providers assisting with our operations, communications, documentation, scheduling, donor systems, or technology support, subject to reasonable confidentiality and operational safeguards.

Because wellness-related and health-related information may be especially sensitive, we aim to be transparent about collection and use and to take reasonable steps to limit access and safeguard the information we maintain. FTC guidance specifically flags the need for clear handling of consumer health information and enforcement risk when organizations misrepresent privacy or security practices.

For more detail, please review our Privacy Policy.

SOHCF may use third-party platforms for donations, events, scheduling, communications, forms, or volunteer coordination. Your use of those platforms may also be subject to the terms and privacy policies of those third parties.

  • Delays, cancellations, rescheduling, or inability to provide services

  • Acts or omissions of third-party platforms or providers not under our control

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

Because our services and website are offered free of charge as part of our charitable mission, any permitted liability shall be limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sparkle of Hope Cleaning Foundation and its officers, directors, volunteers, staff, contractors, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to:
